  • Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are all derivatives of the Botulinum Toxin Type A protein. Commonly referred to as ‘Botox’, this procedure has been a mainstay for cosmetic medicine for over 20 years. More than 20 million Cosmetic Botox procedures have been performed with the rate of treatment growing by around 20% each year. The reason Botulinum Injections are so popular is their ability to correct and prevent facial wrinkles and deliver a very natural looking result. Regular botulinum injections are still the best way to delay the ageing process.

Botulinum injections work by blocking neurotransmitters that stimulate muscles to contract. When we create facial expressions, we are contracting muscles. Over time, this produces wrinkles. Botulinum injections reduce (or even prevent) the muscle contractions that cause wrinkles. The side-effect profile of botulinum toxin type A is very good with Botox being regularly administered to children as young as 2 in doses up to ten times more than what is commonly used in Cosmetic Medicine; to treat muscular disorders and spasticities.

The difference between ‘good botox’ and bad botox’ is the practitioner’s ability to place the botulinum into the correct muscle with the correct dose in accordance with the individual anatomy they are addressing. This is the ‘artistic’ side of Cosmetic Medicine and often what differentiates one practitioner from another. Dianna is a former employee of Allergan, the makers of Botox, and is trained to the highest level in the use of Botulinum.

  • Dermal Fillers are essentially sugar. They are a processed version of the naturally occurring Hyaluronic Acid (HA) that is found throughout our tissues and body fluids. In its naturally-occurring state, Hyaluronic Acid will last around 24-48 hours, so our bodies are constantly producing it. In youth, we produce an abundance of HA. As we age, our natural ability to produce HA is diminished which contributes to loss of tissue volume and hydration, reducing skin quality and we appear ‘aged’. By replenishing and replacing the HA using dermal fillers, we are able to rejuvenate our skin and recapture the abundance we had in our youth.

Dermal fillers are a ‘refined’ HA that is bonded and structurally altered to prevent the body from breaking it down and absorbing it as rapidly as it does with naturally occurring HA. This process ‘hardens’ the HA to form a gel. The more bonded the HA, the ‘harder’ the product. The harder the product, the longer it lasts.

Each range of Dermal Fillers has products that are bonded to different degrees of ‘hardness’. Each product will produce different results and given the breadth of choice now available in this market, practitioners are able to choose the best product to address the area and concern they are facing. This means we can achieve a lot with Dermal Fillers and these safe (and reversible) products have now come to replace many plastic surgery procedures we would have had to perform years ago.

The key to ‘good’ Dermal filling, is to choose the appropriate product for the concern and administer it according to the individual anatomy presented by the patient. Dermal filling is very much an artistic skill.

The practitioner’s eye for symmetry and beauty is fundamentally important. There is also a considerable level of skill and anatomy knowledge required to deliver dermal filler. Dianna has completed Advanced Facial Anatomy qualifications and regularly attends workshops and courses to ensure her knowledge remains up-to-date and to the highest standards. The incredible retention rate she enjoys is testament to her artistic ability.

  • PRP therapy helps to accelerate and promote the body’s natural healing and rejuvenation process without subjecting patients to significant risk.

The philosophy is to merge cutting edge technology with the body’s natural ability to heal. PRP technology was initially developed 20 years ago to aid with wound healing and blood loss. Now it is being used successfully across a wide range of applications such as skin rejuvenation, hair loss treatment, sports injuries, wound care and gynaecology.

At Cosmetic Solutions, we utilise the incredible power of PRP for Aesthetic treatments such as Facial Rejuvenation. Natural ageing of the skin means that skin texture and appearance deteriorate over time. An exciting new approach appealing to people seeking a more natural method to facial rejuvenation, is regeneration with your own cells, more specifically autologous platelet rich plasma (PRP). RegenLab PRP is being used successfully with thousands of patients across the globe to rejuvenate and slow down the ageing process.

PRP can be used to treat:

+ Tired and dry skin, laxity of skin, uneven pigmentation
    + Signs of skin ageing
    + Fine lines and wrinkles
+ Overall texture and tone improvement
+ Certain types of alopecia or general hair thinning
+ People who may experience risk of allergic reactions from other treatments
+ People looking for a natural treatment using the body’s own healing process

Blood is collected from you in 1-2 specially designed tubes which are then centrifuged for 5-10 minutes. During centrifugation, a patented gel within the tubes isolates PRP from other unrequired cells within the blood. RegenLab PRP is then ready for application by injection back into the skin.

Following the procedure, patients can resume normal activity almost immediately.

The number of treatments required may vary depending on your skin condition, lifestyle and your expectations. 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart is normal. Once you and are happy with the results you can simply maintain the look with top-up treatments maybe every 12-24 months. However, results, number of treatments and suitability for treatment with PRP vary from client to client, so it’s important to discuss your concerns and expectations with Dianna at your consultation.

  • What is Profhilo®?
The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

    How Does Profhilo® Work?
Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non- stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
